Miss.Conception Ja is a Kingston-based nonprofit created to fill a gap in Jamaica’s fertility care: emotional support, education, and community. While medical treatment exists, many patients go through IVF, IUI, donor cycles, and loss in isolation, with stigma and misinformation adding to the stress. Miss.Conception Ja will provide peer support, mental health resources, education, and advocacy so no one in Jamaica has to navigate fertility treatment alone.
Mission, Vision, Values Mission: To create a safe, judgment-free community that supports, educates, and empowers Jamaicans undergoing fertility treatment.
Vision: A Jamaica where fertility challenges are spoken about openly, and every patient has access to community care alongside medical care.
Values: Compassion, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, hope without false promises.
The Problem 1. Stigma + Silence: Fertility struggles are often treated as taboo in Caribbean culture. Patients report feeling shame, blame, and isolation. 2. Information gaps: Limited public education on treatment options, costs, success rates, and mental health impacts. 3. Emotional toll: Anxiety, depression, and relationship strain during treatment are common but rarely addressed locally. 4. Financial pressure: Treatment is expensive and not covered by most insurance. Patients need help navigating options.
